Since going out of town for President’s Day was out of the question for us this year, we decided to be a tourist in our own city. My friends and I ( a group of six) decided to make the best of it by going to upper West side in the city for lunch, followed by a museum visit.
We ended up at Uno Chicago Grill, located on 432 Columbus Ave.

b/t 81st St & 82nd St in Upper West Side. The wait for a group of six was over 30 minutes, we were told 10 minutes. That was the only negative aspect of it. Our waiter was extremely polite and friendly. She went above and beyond to please us. The food was not the best I’ve ever had but good. The place was clean. I got to sample 3 soups, the low-fat veggie, the creamy broccoli, and the French onion soup. They were all delicious. Their thin crust pizza was made with whole grains. We had ordered the marinara and a veggie delight. They were both good. We had also ordered three salads, a Caesar, a walnut and goat cheese salad and a mediterranean salad. The Caesar salad was great in my opinion because it wasn’t too oily or heavy on the dressing. I liked the walnut salad except I’m not a fan of sweet salad dressing and their dressing was so sweet.
The mediterranean was awesome. The ingredients were fresh.
We had also ordered two children’s meals which I would not recommend. Their mac and cheese was not even edible. A much wiser choice would have been to order from an adult menu because they offer $6 sides and smaller portions.
Overall, it was a good experience.
